Position Descriptioin:

We are seeking Robotics Instructor who will help students of age 6-12 to learn about Robotics using LEGO related products. You can find out more about our class in [here].

Summer Class runs every Tuesday from July 2nd – Aug 31, at our Markham location.
2:45-4:15pm – Grade 7-9
4:30-5:30pm – Grade 1-3
5:30-7:00pm – Grade 4-6

A passionate candidate who will:

• Ensure the atmosphere is inclusive, welcoming, and safe for all children.
• Create engaging lessons that include teaching robotics skills, engineering, coding, and other skills that relate to the Robotics program.
• Be creative and innovative in the time spent with the children and be comfortable teaching content related to Robotics for children between the ages of 6-12 years.
• Assist our students to not only understand the fundamentals of Robotics but also to look to the future and think how they can make a real-life impact.
• Be self-motivating and enthusiastic in carrying out the duties, fostering self-esteem, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Provide positive role-modelling for students and volunteers to the program. Be always polite and helpful, smiling and greeting both parents and children.
• Be accepting of all children without regard to race, creed, religion, and socioeconomic status.
• Provide weekly reports on your program, complete appropriate attendance records, daily logs, and program plans as required.

Requirements:

• Vulnerable Sector police clearance check – A MUST within the last 12-months from date of issue.
• MUST be dependable and organized
• Exhibit personal suitability and flexibility
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous experience in Robotics/STEM class/camp would be an asset.

Salary:

$21-30/hr + bonus

The Weekend Classes are at our Markham location:
Sat. 3:30-4:30pm – Grade 1-3, Robotics & Programing I
Sun. 10:00-11:00am – Grade 4-7, Robotics & Programing II

Position Description:

• Lead, supervise, and promote the safety of all participants
• Enforce safety rules and regulations
• Prepare lesson plans and lessons according to the required curriculum
• Teaching students using a variety of different techniques including discussions, visual demonstrations, and guided discovery.
• Nurture and develop all students’ potential skills and abilities
• Evaluate students progress and discuss results with students, parents, and the onsite coordinator
• Tracking student progress by filling out weekly report cards
• Motivate students for success
• Participate in staff meetings and required training
• Each coach is required to do either before care (7:45am arrival) or after care (5:15pm dismissal) each week.
• Additional duties as prescribed

Requirements:

• Experience working with children aged 6-12
• NCCP Coaching certification (or equivalent) preferred
• Background knowledge and experience in Soccer or other sports
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check
• Standard First aid and CPR C
• Strong communication skills
• Multiple languages an asset

Salary:

$17.5-20/hr + 10% performance bonus
